Ghosts On The Mountain

A rock full of ghosts tumbled down from the mountain
Rolled over the village and onto the plain
There it stood for centuries as the city grew around it
Digging all about until it was a mountain again

A rock full of ghosts tumbled down from the mountain
Rolled over the city and into the sea
There it stood for centuries as the planet warmed around it
Boiling the waters until it was a mountain again

The doodle that inspired the rhyme...

And over the mudflats, their eyes on horizons
The people come seeking dry land for their feet
Scanning about for some kind of island
They witness the m
ountain, and history repeats

And over the desert, their eyes on horizons
The people come seeking some shade in the heat
Scanning about for some kind of shelter
T
hey witness the mountain, and history repeats
